  • Notify your Soleo Care Team of travel plans for planning assistance and successful travel with medications
  • Let your prescriber know your travel destination and duration
  • Obtain an updated travel letter and prescription from your prescriber stating you are traveling with medications, needles and syringes
  • Check with your health insurance plan for coverage before traveling out of state or out of the country, as you may need a supplemental policy
  • Plan ahead to ensure you have medication and supplies available at your destination, if needed
  • Use the travel letter to introduce yourself to a medical facility during travel (emergency department, hospital)

WHAT TO BRING

While traveling, always carry the following:

  • Medications and supplies
  • Travel letter; many times you will need a letter of medical necessity to show to the TSA.
    • TSA Assistance: TSA Cares is a helpline that provides travelers with disabilities, medical conditions and other special circumstances additional assistance during the security screening process. Call 72 hours prior at (855) 787-2227 on weekdays, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. ET and weekends/holidays, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET.
  • Valid insurance card
  • Prescription labeled for identification
  • Sharps container for disposal of used supplies
  • Medication log
  • Cooler and ice packs for product temperature control, if appropriate
  • Always wear your personalized medical ID tag
