Patients receiving Myasthenia Gravis (MG) therapy are supported through our MG Therapeutic Care Management Center (TCMC). Our dedicated MG TCMC is staffed with specially trained interdisciplinary teams comprising highly experienced physician specialists, therapy-care pharmacists, registered nurses, reimbursement specialists and patient-care ambassadors. Our MG TCMC is supported by our specialty pharmacies located nationwide, with pharmacy licensure in all 50 states.

Neurological Therapies
Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a long-term autoimmune disease that weakens the voluntary muscles. These are the muscles you control on purpose, including those in your arms and legs, face, throat and diaphragm. In MG, the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks healthy cells or proteins the muscles need to work normally.
Symptoms can include weak eye muscles, drooping eyelids, blurred or double vision and changes in facial expression. Some people also have trouble swallowing, shortness of breath, slurred speech or weakness in the arms, hands, fingers, legs and neck. If breathing muscles become too weak, a person can go into myasthenic crisis, which needs emergency medical care right away. If you have trouble breathing, call 911.
MG happens when communication between nerves and muscles breaks down at the neuromuscular junction. Antibodies block, change or destroy the receptors for acetylcholine, a chemical nerves use to signal muscles to contract. Most often these antibodies target the acetylcholine receptor (AChR) itself. Antibodies against another protein, muscle-specific kinase (MuSK), can also cause MG. MG isn’t inherited or contagious.
MG affects men and women of all racial and ethnic groups. It’s most common in women under 40 and men over 60, but it can start at any age, including childhood.
There’s no known cure for MG, but most people with MG live a typical lifespan. Treatment can include:

If your medication and insurance allow it, Soleo Health can send an infusion nurse to your home. You can also receive treatment at one of our ambulatory infusion centers (AICs). Pharmacists and registered nurses are available 24/7/365 to help with your care and concerns.
