With 35 years in healthcare, starting as a phlebotomist and spending the last 15 years as a passionate nurse, Jennifer Grace, BSN, RN, never imagined she’d need the very services she helped provide to her own patients. Jennifer’s lupus journey began at just 16 years old when she woke up with a stiff elbow. Her mother took her to doctors, but the medical community failed her, dismissing her symptoms as either an injury or psychological. The lack of proper diagnosis and treatment led to years of suffering.

The symptoms escalated quickly – she couldn’t put on shoes, her hands became non-functional, her wedding ring wouldn’t fit, and jewelry became impossible to wear. Eventually, the disease interfered with her ability to work properly, threatening the career she loved.
